EK - 13mm 1/2"- 1/4" BSPP (G1/4) High Flow Fitting is not just an ordinary 12mm spigot. This is a 13mm High Flow spigot, which means that its continuity hole is a lot bigger than normal fittings. The EK 13mm spigot has an ID (Inner Diameter) throughout 10mm where conventional are only 8mm ID (a 25% increase!), which means that considerably more water can pass through the spigot. This again means, that you're reducing pressure and flow loss.

The connector has a delicious rubber O-ring, which means that the joint will be completely sealed. In this way you can also use the PTFE tape, which can be very cumbersome.
In order to provide the spigot a more complete appearance the O-ring will be invisible when you mount it.
The connector is made of nickel-plated brass which gives it a nice shiny appearance. Moreover, It's equipped with two rings which ensure that the tube stays in place.
